Project details

An exciting, international workshop is being held in India on 16 to 20 June 2009 and trilingual interpreters are required for the event.

As the second of three international workshops on the practical application of economic, social and cultural rights, this event will follow on from that held in Mali in April 2008, which brought together 21 participants from 11 countries.

Representatives will be invited to present their progress in following the recommendations of the UN Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee, and workshops will be held on effective lobbying, mobilizing civil society into action and influencing administrative and judiciary practices.

Volunteering Opportunities

We are seeking two interpreters - perfectly trilingual in English, French and Spanish. The interpretation will be simultaneous, in interpreting cabins with headsets. Speaker presentations and a glossary of the principal terms will be provided.

If this event interests you and you meet the requirements of the position, please send your CV and cover letter to both volunteer [at] icvolunteers.org.

Conditions

Transportation costs from and to the conference will be covered by the organizers, as well as costs for the visa fee, if required.

Food and accommodation will be provided by the host organization from 14th June at the earliest to 22nd June at the latest.

A per diem will be received for the 5 days worked: 16th-20th June 2009.

For the seminar participants, a visit is planned on June 22nd to see the host association’s activities. Volunteers will have the chance to join this if they so wish.
